Welcome to Walney

During the years 2009 to 2010 DONG Energy plans to construct phase I of the Walney Offshore Windfarm, located approximately 15km off Walney Island, Cumbria, in the Irish Sea in the UK.

The first phase comprising 42 turbines with a capacity of approximately 150MW will be commissioned in 2010.

The development includes foundations, turbines, export- and array cables, offshore substations and onshore connection to grid.

04.07.2008 Agreement with Ballast Nedam
On the 3th of July 2008 an agreement was made between Ballast Nedam and DONG Walney (UK) limited, concerning use of the vessel "Svanen" to the installation proces in 2009.
